We are already all we need to be. Sometimes this embodiment of our true selves is beneath a lifetime of injury, trauma, addiction, illness, and subsequent compensation. Sometimes we have forgotten who it is we were born to be. Sometimes we have fought so hard to live a life for others we have lost connection to the life we are meant to live for ourselves.
I would like to invite you on an exploration; a pilgrimage towards your innate health and inherent intelligence, so you are better able to understand that which is blocking your way and better equipped to decide what to do with them.By supporting the body’s own self-healing process, Craniosacral Therapy (CST) can be used for rehabilitation, recalibration or general relaxation and may aid people with almost any condition. But you do not have to be ill or have any particular symptoms to benefit from CST; the easing of life’s stresses, and the increased sense of vitality and well-being that CST can bring, is welcome at any time. Our bodies are the vessels of our current existence and have an intrinsic intelligence that we simply have to get in touch with in order to live well. I will work on all levels of your being to re-establish the dialogue between your body and its inherent health and guide you to the best version of you that you can be.
I work with the whole system, guided predominantly by my training in CST but also tapping into the breadth and depth of life experience, supplemented by research and additional studies in nutrition, meditation, developmental and Jung psychology, psychic development, Vedanta, shamanism, quantum physics, neuroanatomy and much more. This is holistic healing that combines bodywork with spiritual guidance, coaching and guidance.
“As the twig is bent, so grows the tree." - Dr William Sutherland
Our bodies don’t hold any ultimate physical laws; only entrenched behavioural patterns. Physical injuries, emotional and psychological stresses, birth traumas and toxicity can become imprinted in the body’s connective tissues (fascia, ligaments, muscles and bones), including the head, acting like a recording that is replayed whenever stimulated. Yet within all of us is the freedom to rise to a higher state of being.
Health is not merely the absence of disease; it is an entity in itself – a vitality, a glow, a clarity of mind – an inner pool of resourcing that allows your being to flourish.
“One day your pain will become your cure.” - Rumi
Listen to your symptoms as these are your body’s messengers and your inner guide to health. Each body has its own stories; my job is to listen – to hear its stories as clearly as possible – and to respond effectively. If a body has dis-ease, it also has the ability to find ease. Because the body functions as a whole and because this is a client-led therapy, focus may be on areas other than where symptoms occur and you may find that the reason you came for treatment is not what changes first.
CST is a light-touch non-invasive therapy that uses a palpation technique to balance the structures surrounding the brain and spinal cord, stimulating the flow of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), which enhances the overall health of the body.
CST is a healing practice that senses the body’s subtle rhythms and patterns of inertia or congestion and provides an opportunity for the body to let go of its restrictions, freeing up the energy previously used to hold the body in contraction.
CST encourages the body to settle out of conditions that have been set up by history, injury and lifestyle and return it to its natural flow. The resulting changes can bring greater ease on a mental or emotional level, as well as to the physical body.
CST is an excellent preventive therapy because it can facilitate the resolution of imbalances within a system that the individual may not even be consciously aware of. Treatment can begin at birth and can be used throughout life; consistently receiving this healing therapy improves the body’s resistance to ailments and increases its ability to heal.
I have journeyed far to this destination of healer. In the years between initially studying Developmental Psychology and training through Integral Health to become a qualified Craniosacral Practitioner, I have worked in Investment Banking; Human Resources; Consulting; Grief Counseling; Social Development; Social Entrepreneurship; Mentoring and Writing. I'm like a sponge that draws water and then allows it to flow and settle into its place, knowing that everything works in symbiosis and union. This has been a life work that has culminated in Craniosacral Therapy rather than the other way around. I have a passion for nutrition, personal development and holistic health and believe in a patient-led approach that values the integration of body, mind and spirit as one dynamic system. I am currently studying Developmental Integral Coaching at the UCT Graduate School of Business.
I don't treat illness; I facilitate health.
