I focus on finding the why of your recurring injury or mobility issues by using a non-invasive full body Free Range of Motion fascia assessment and release methodology called Lyno.During our consults we don’t guess, but rather first assess your entire connective tissue framework, then identify areas needing the most pressing releases to get you back into balance and out of chronic bracing and pain. We do this by incorporating somatic movement, vagal toning, breathing and neural pathway rewiring. We do not treat the symptom but your entire system (a sore knee can be from misalignment in a hip, ankle, wrist or shoulder - your body will show us the way during our sessions.Post Lyno series of treatments you experience the regain of mobility in areas that have been chronically stuck over time; resulting in less pain and improved ease of movement. Once your system is more in balance your natural stability and strength will be able to return too.How can Lyno help you?
You may have been suffering from “tight hamstrings”, a sore knee or wrist with no clear diagnosis, prognosis or success from medical interventions or a clear explanation to why it is sore to begin with – except excuses that it is "the way you were born” or “just getting old”.Your issue/s could be from misalignment in your body that over time has slowly grown worse with stress, overtraining or repeated actions causing fascia in certain areas to get dehydrated or "sticky" - e.g. a spontaneous sore knee could be from a prolonged compensation pattern from a postural habit, a previous injury elsewhere - or from limited range in your wrist or neck. We always test your entire body to show us where it needs the work.Who can benefit from Lyno?
All ages and all mobility and fitness levels, from the very sedentary recovering from bedbound illness to sports enthusiasts of all modalities wanting to progress to another level..Individuals practising Ahimsa and looking to enhance and deepen their understanding of their own unique bodies and wanting to build on their yoga, Pilates, martial arts or other movement practise goals will enjoy and benefit from Lyno consults. Please note Lyno practitioners are not doctors, physios or talk therapists and therefore we do not treat acute injuries or give advice on emotional matters. Please consult the relevant professionals for help in those situations. We do however hold safe space for our clients in times of emotional stress or release should it occur during our time together. How it works:
Our main focus is to assist you into regaining your optimal range of motion and equilibrium through somatic nervous system work. Your nervous system / subconsciousness cannot tell the difference between emotional, mental or physical threats – it all is received as threat signals which causes fascia to restrict into protective patterns, over long period of challenging times this can become a constantly habitual braced up pattern / way of being. Lyno helps send the correct sensory cues to your brain and nervous system that it is now safe to let go of these “sticky” bits.Your subconscious braced up patterns can lead to referred pain showing up in areas of your body – often in parts that are a surprise. Your sore “knee” might be a result of a stiff neck or shoulder that has thrown off your alignment, causing wear and tear on this area - but the tension that is causing this is coming from somewhere else in your body. Why the Fascia?
Fascia is your connective tissue and is your largest sensory organ constantly relaying messages to your brain. It is everywhere in your body from superficial adipose tissue layers right down to deeper interstitial ones surrounding organs as well as muscles and tendons. It is the structural foundation that keeps the form of your body otherwise known as the tensegrity of your meat suit. This sensory organ braces up to protect you or help you perform better physically in times of intense need and then naturally releases back into flow state once the demanding event has passed. Think of it as human magic putty that can be rock hard when hit with force, but super stretchy when it is relaxed.More about Bianca:

The Lyno Method is a South African born methodology created to discover the why of each individual’s chronic or recurring injury or pain. It was developed by a South African sports physio who was inspired by other techniques and philosophies such as Rolfing, Anatomy Trains and Stephen Porges. The Method has evolved over the past 30 years to be a very gentle experience and continues to evolve as we all learn from new research, shared experiences from each other through our own learning paths in our practises, we are growing annually as a collective international community. The Lyno Method was initially designed for elite athletes to be able to overcome recurring injuries and reach their personal bests. It has now become much more accessible to everyone to benefit thanks to its more gentle, nervous system approach. Vulnerable individuals recovering from illness including strokes, Parkinsons and Long Covid have experienced its benefits.
