WILDERNESS VIGIL – Vision Quest – Anysberg, South Africa
Across cultures and across time people have gone into the wild, away from the company of humans, to listen. For something beneath the noise of their own thinking, to mark a transition, to find direction, to remember what they belong to.
Twelve days in the Anysberg. Four days of preparation, four days solo in the wilderness, four days of integration. The solo is the heart of it – but what comes before and after is what the solo needs to land.
What happens out there needs tending.
You don’t need to have done anything like this before. The land knows how to do its work. Your job is simply to show up and stay present. That is why we call it a vigil.
- SEVERANCE: 4 days building readiness, clarifying intention
- THRESHOLD: 4 days solo fast
- INTEGRATION: 4 days return and incorporation
