SORE THROAT – natural and home cures
Whether the sore throat is caused by a bacterial or viral infection it will usually disappear on its own within a week in an otherwise healthy person. Some of the symptoms include: pain when swallowing or talking, hoarseness, swollen red tonsils, a scratchy sensation or difficulty swallowing. A sore throat may also be accompanied by a fever, headache, body aches, cough, runny nose and nausea.
Strep throat symptoms include swollen lymph nodes in the neck, white patches on the tonsils, a red rash at the back of the throat, a fever and throat pain, especially when swallowing. In this case, visit a professional for further diagnosis
Tinctures for a sore throat:
Echinacea, Licorice root
Tea Tree Oil: an incredibly effective way to quickly get rid of a sore throat is to drop 4 drops of tea tree oil into room temp or warmish water and gargle for as long as you can. Do this as often as you like. It is almost instant relief.
Aromatherapy: Lemon Oil, Eucalyptus Oil – diffuse into the room or dilute in a carrier oil and apply to throat and chest. Dilution ratio: 10 drops to 50ml carrier oil.
Kitchen Cure: Slippery Elm or Marshmallow Root tea – make it with warm not boiling water and allow to steep for 20 minutes.
Tissue Salt: 4. Ferrum Phos
Diet: Raw honey add to warm water or tea. Bone broth – drink 2 cups a day. Raw crushed garlic, add to your food or put with raw honey and allow to infuse for 3 hours then eat by the tablespoon. All of these are soothing for the throat and garlic will help with swelling and infection.
